Understanding Mercedes A & B Service

While most cars only need general maintenance services, Mercedes-Benz uses a tune-up schedule called A & B Service, which is actually two different services that are completed on an alternating basis. This may seem difficult to keep track of, but your vehicle will let you know what service you need and when through its maintenance service indicator system.

Service A is first needed once you’ve driven for about 10,000 miles, but it’s then needed every 20,000 miles. During your visit, our trained technicians will complete a variety of basic services:

  • Replace your synthetic oil and oil filter
  • Check fluid levels
  • Ensure tires are properly inflated
  • Inspect your brakes
  • Reset the maintenance counter

Service B first occurs after 20,000 miles, and then it’s needed every 20,000 miles afterward. This service is a bit more in-depth, so in addition to the steps completed in Service A, our automotive professionals will also do the following:

  • Replace the cabin dust/combination filter
  • Perform a brake fluid exchange
